    Rajon Rondo

Rajon Pierre Rondo was born on February 22, 1986, in Louisville, Kentucky. In the early 1980s, Rajon’s father abandoned the family when he was seven years old. He was raised primarily by his mother alongside three siblings. Despite becoming a basketball star, later on, Rondo was initially drawn to the sport of football as a child. But his mother suggested that he concentrate on basketball instead, as she feared that football would be much harder on his body.

    Early Life

Several scholarship offers were made to Rajon, but he chose to enroll at the University of Kentucky. Although Rondo led Kentucky to several victories during his time there, the team ultimately did not make the NCAA Tournament Final Four in his first- or second-year student season. He was named to the US under-21 basketball team his sophomore year, and he also traveled to Argentina for the 2005 FIBA Under-21 World Championship. He averaged 2.6 steals per game during his freshman season while playing for Kentucky. He eventually won the gold medal for his country.

    Family

In Louisville, Kentucky, the United States of America’s Ramon Pierre Rondo was born on February 22, 1986. The father left the family when Rajon was seven years old, so he and his three siblings were raised by their mother. Early in his childhood, he was interested in football, but his mother encouraged him to play basketball instead.

    Education

His basketball career started during his high school years when he played for Eastern High School in Virginia and later for Oak Hill Academy. Rajon played men’s basketball for the University of Kentucky’s Kentucky Wildcats team from 2004 until 2006. Rondo also won a gold medal with the 2005 USA Men’s Under-21 World Championship Team, increasing his net worth and fame.

    Rajon Rondo Career

Rondo decided to leave college and become an NBA draft-eligible during his junior year of college. The Phoenix Suns selected him on the draft day and immediately traded him to the Boston Celtics. It was the first basketball pick of the draft to pick a point guard. Rajon did not get a starting position during his rookie season, and he played in only 25 games. However, as the season progressed, he received more playing time and gained a starting position. Despite the Celtics not qualifying for the playoffs, Rajon was selected to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.

Despite leading the team in assists and steals, he had a back injury that sidelined him for four games next season. While playing in the playoffs, he rolled his ankle and returned to help his team win the NBA title against the Lakers. The following year, he was selected to his first All-Star game and set several franchise records, but his team could not beat the Lakers in the NBA finals. Rajon suffered some injuries to start the 2010-2011 season. After that, he continued to play well for the next few seasons before tearing his ACL in his right knee. Rehabilitation was a long process after that.

He was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2014. According to reports, he didn’t have a good relationship with his new teammates, which led to his departure. He signed an extension with the Chicago Bulls after his time with the Kings before moving to Sacramento. His stint only lasted one year before he became a member of the New Orleans Pelicans. As an NBA champion, he won a second championship with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2018, staying with them until 2020.
